It’s official – Amazon is hosting Prime Day 2024 from 16 to 17 July. The 48-hour mega sale is exclusive to Prime members, giving them access to bargain prices on tech, travel accessories, kitchen appliances, home products, pet supplies, and more. What is Amazon Prime Day?
Prime Day is Amazon’s biggest sale of the year, exclusively for Prime members. It’s usually a 48-hour sale where brands mark down their products to their lowest prices of the year.
Retailers like Walmart, Target, and Best Buy often host their own mega sales around Prime Day. For example, Target is hosting Target Circle Week from July 7-13, and Walmart is hosting its Walmart Deals event from July 8-11, which is open to all shoppers. Other retailers have not yet announced details about their summer sales, but we’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
Which countries participate in Prime Day?
According to Amazon, Prime Day 2024 will take place in over 20 countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, USA and Great Britain.
When is Prime Day 2024?
Amazon will host Prime Day 2024 from July 16 to 17. The 48-hour sale typically takes place in mid-July—for example, Prime Day 2023 was on July 11 and 12, and Prime Day 2022 was on July 12 and 13.
Does Prime Day happen twice a year?
In 2022 and 2023, Amazon held Prime Day twice a year. The Summer Prime Day sale took place in July, and there was another Prime Day event in October – in 2022 it was called Prime Early Access Sale and in 2023 Prime Big Deal Days.
Amazon has not yet announced whether it will host a second Prime Day event in October 2024. Currently, the July event is the only opportunity for Prime members to score bargains during an exclusive 48-hour mega sale.
Do you have to be a Prime member to shop on Prime Day?
Yes, only Prime members get access to Amazon Prime Day deals.
What is Amazon Prime?
Amazon Prime is the retailer’s loyalty program. A standard membership costs $139 per year or $15 per month, and new members get a 30-day free trial. Amazon also offers discounted student memberships ($69 per year) and memberships for those eligible for certain government assistance programs ($7 per month).
Prime membership benefits include access to Prime Day deals and free, fast shipping, such as free two-day, one-day, and same-day delivery. Prime members also get a handful of streaming and entertainment benefits, can order groceries online through Whole Foods or Amazon Fresh, and sign up for a free Grubhub+ membership.
How do you sign up for a Prime membership before Prime Day 2024?
Before Prime Day 2024, you can sign up for a Prime membership on the Amazon website or app. New members get a 30-day free trial – Amazon will automatically charge you for your Prime membership once the free trial ends.
Can you take advantage of Prime Day deals early?
Yes, Prime members can snag early deals as the event approaches, and some of them are already available. For example, right now you can get a Ring doorbell for 50% off, a Keurig coffee maker for 47% off, and a Roku streaming device for 38% off. Overall, the best way to stay up to date on early Prime Day deals is to download the Amazon app, which can notify you of sales in real time.
What are the best deals on Prime Day?
During Prime Day, products from all shopping categories are on sale, and shoppers don’t know exactly what’s available until the event begins. But looking at Prime Day bestsellers from years past can give you a sense of which items are traditionally discounted. For example, some of the most ordered items during Prime Day in July 2023 include the Amazon Fire TV Stick, Laneige Lip Glowy Balm, Apple AirPods, Bissell Little Green Portable Deep Cleaner, and Alexa-enabled devices.
