Logitech focuses on inconspicuousness with its G515 Lightspeed gaming keyboard

Logitech is following up with the launch of its new G515 LIGHTSPEED TKL wireless gaming keyboard today. Part of the Logi G sub-brand, this new keyboard offers some high-performance features in a slimmer, more modern format than traditional mechanical gaming keyboards.

Low-profile keyboards have a slimmer design, although they still use the same mechanical switch technology as high-end gaming keyboards. The slimmer profile means shorter keystroke detection distances, allowing gamers to play more comfortably without increasing the number of actions per minute.

Taking up less desk space, the G515 offers a more comfortable typing experience that enhances gameplay without compromising traditional features. The low-profile design enables faster keystrokes, allowing gamers to react more quickly during intense gaming sessions. At just 22mm high, the G515 does not require a palm rest

The low-profile switches used in the G515 have an activation distance of only 1.3mm and a total travel of 3.2mm, which is shorter than traditional mechanical keyboard switches. The lightweight design and streamlined construction ensure more efficient playing and more comfortable in-game actions.

The G515 features a layer of sound-dampening foam, and the switches and stabilizers are factory-lubricated for a smoother response. High-quality PBT keycaps provide a smooth typing feel and are durable in use, even when gameplay gets a little more intense.

In terms of advanced technology, the G515 keyboard features Logitech G’s recently announced KEYCONTROL technology, which allows gamers to fully customize their keyboard. Each key can perform up to 15 different actions, allowing gamers to customize their keyboard and assign macros, audio signals, and lighting effects to keys.

KEYCONTROL also offers the ability to add layers and modifiers like G SHIFT to expand customization possibilities. Complete custom layouts can be toggled with the touch of a button. Members of the G HUB community can even share custom designs with other enthusiasts.

The G515 also features Logitech’s LIGHTSPEED wireless pairing, allowing gamers to connect their gaming mouse – like the G502 X PLUS – via the G515 LIGHTSPEED dongle. This also frees up an additional USB port.

LIGHTSYNC RGB lighting lets gamers personalize their keyboard with a choice of 16.8 million colors and connect all their Logitech G gear via G HUB. The keyboard features three connection modes: LIGHTSPEED wireless, Bluetooth, and wired USB-C mode. A full charge of the G515’s built-in battery allows for up to 36 hours of continuous gaming before needing to be recharged.
