It will be about three months before Apple officially unveils its next iPhone.

But a new video clip may give us the best look yet at what the highly anticipated device will look like.

The leaked clip posted on X shows the iPhone 16 case, which is said to be molded to the exact specifications of the new phone.

It suggests that the iPhone 16 will have a new button on the right side, which could be a game-changer for selfie fans.

The iPhone 16, which will be released in September, is said to be the most expensive smartphone Apple has ever released, according to some reports.

The video was posted on X (Twitter) by @UniverseIce, who is described by TechRadar as a “reliable” informant who shares information about tech products.

In the clip you can clearly see that there is a slot on the edge of the case through which the user can press the new button.

The so-called “Capture Button” function allows users to activate the camera much faster than before and capture fleeting moments.

With just one press of the record button, you can take photos and start video clips, giving users an alternative to tapping the screen.

That is confirmed by previously leaked image renderings showing the new button in the same position – on the right edge of the screen, below the existing power button.

In addition, the new clip suggests that the camera lenses on the back will be arranged vertically rather than diagonally – which again confirms claims from an earlier leak.

It’s unclear why Apple chose this vertical lens orientation, but it could have something to do with the new Vision Pro headset.

According to BGR, Apple wants all of its iPhones to be able to record spatial video that can be played on the Vision Pro, but this requires a vertical camera setup.

Having already been released in the US, the Vision Pro will be released in the UK next month for the hefty price of £3,499.

MailOnline has contacted Apple for comment, although the tech giant generally does not comment on rumors before a release.

Just like last year’s iPhone 15, the iPhone 16 is expected to come in four different versions – iPhone 16 (the standard model), iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

However, it is still unclear whether all four iPhone 16 models have the capture button and for which model the case with the new clip is suitable.

Apple’s first mixed reality headset, Vision Pro (pictured), allows wearers to select apps with their eyes. It launches in the UK, Australia, Canada, France and Germany on July 12.
The Pro and Pro Max versions of the iPhone have long featured three camera lenses in an “arrow” orientation – two on the left and one on the right (see image). However, since 2021, the standard versions of the iPhone have featured two diagonally opposite lenses

According to MacRumours, the screen size of the two Pro models – the two most expensive options – will be larger compared to the corresponding iPhone 15 models.

The screen size of the Pro model will increase from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches, while the screen size of the Pro Max will increase from 6.7 inches to 6.9 inches, it is said.

Although exact pricing is unclear, it is expected to outperform the iPhone 15, which starts at £799/$799 for the standard model, while the most expensive variant, the Pro Max, starts at £1,199/$1,199 and goes up to £1,599/$1,599 for 1TB of storage.

Renderings also show that Apple is working on the iPhone SE 4, the latest model in Apple’s “budget” SE smartphone line and an upgrade to the 2022 iPhone SE 3.

The release of the iPhone 16 will be accompanied by a new major software update, iOS 18, which will include a number of AI-powered features – unless you’re in the EU.

Apple’s new AI update will not be available on European devices until next year at the earliest due to privacy concerns, the tech giant admits

It was the most eagerly awaited feature unveiled at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) this year.

But Apple now says that Apple Intelligence and two other major updates will be available on devices in the European Union by next year at the latest.

In a statement, the tech giant announced that it would delay the launch of its major AI update in the EU due to privacy concerns related to the Digital Markets Act (DMA).

Apple says it will also hold back the iPhone Mirror feature for Macs and improvements to SharePlay screen sharing due to “regulatory uncertainties.”

MailOnline has asked Apple for more information, but it is not yet clear whether this will affect users in the UK.
