Helldivers 2 Update 01.000.403 fixes broken spear – IGN

Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead has released a new patch for the co-op shooter for PC and PlayStation 5 that fixes the spear after a previous update caused crashing issues.

Last week’s update 1.000.402 included a fix for the spear not targeting several objects (spawners, composite objects, etc.). This change was welcomed by fans, who hoped it would finally make the spear weapon more reliable on the battlefield.

However, players soon discovered that the spear, the very weapon Arrowhead wanted to fix, was causing crashes, leading to a renewed recommendation not to use it. Now, patch 01.000.403 includes a fix for spear-related crashes. Let’s cross our fingers that the spear’s turbulent time in Helldivers 2 is now over.

In addition, there are additional fixes for a number of relatively minor issues and an updated list of issues Arrowhead is working on.

Helldivers 2 is the fastest-selling PlayStation game of all time, selling an incredible 12 million copies in just 12 weeks since it went on sale earlier this year. Alongside the huge sales that Helldivers 2 has generated, Arrowhead itself has been through a number of crises, including issues with its launch server and, most recently, a dispute with Sony itself over the console maker’s controversial attempt to force Steam players to link their accounts to the PlayStation Network.

Arrowhead recently announced that it is in the process of setting up the studio to “do more and better things” in the long term. an introductory post on Redditnew CEO Shams Jorjani, who recently replaced former Arrowhead CEO and current Chief Creative Officer Johan Pilestedtsaid the studio had to adapt to the enormous success that Helldivers 2 brought to the company.
