Helldivers 2 is one of the best games of the year and there is a lot for fans to look forward to in the near future. After weeks of waiting, we recently received a major update from the community that brought some much-needed and welcome balance changes. Although the intention is to release patches at a slower frequency, New Helldivers 2 update could be released this week to fix some issues currently plaguing the game.
As mentioned, there’s a lot to look forward to in the future for Helldivers 2. The arrival of the Illuminati seems to be getting closer, and according to leaks, we could potentially get a huge clan system one day. As for cosmetics, Arrowhead has insisted that they’re still looking to release the “Review Bomb” cape after the whole PSN debacle last month.
While the game has almost unlimited potential for the future, fans can already look forward to a new update with hotfixes.
The update for Helldivers 2 may be released this week
It’s not yet confirmed that a new patch will be released, but Helldivers 2 community manager Twinbeard has hinted that there might be an update this week. Last week, Twinbeard responded to a question on the series’ official Discord about whether Arrowhead will release a hotfix.
In response, Twinbeard said, “Next week? Much more plausible, maybe even more likely.” In the context of the time the response was posted, “Next week” meant June 24-30.
Assuming we get an update this week, the likely date would be either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. These are the days updates are usually released. But again, there are no guarantees.
As for what patches the hotfix might address, Twinbeard said Arrowhead is trying to fix the main issues with the spear. Since update 01.000.402, players have reported that using the spear caused the game to crash.
In addition to the spear, Twinbeard suggested that Arrowhead might be able to provide a fix for the ballistic shield. There is also the following list of known issues that have not yet been fixed, which are listed in the patch notes for update 01.000.402:
- Sending friend requests via friend code does not currently work in the game.
- Players may not be able to join the game or be invited to the game.
- Players added to the Recent Players list will appear in the middle of the list.
- There may be delays in the payout of medals and super credits.
- Available operations are regenerated after the connection is restored after an AFK kick.
- Bleeding enemies cannot progress in the Personal Orders and Extermination missions.
- Arc weapons sometimes behave inconsistently and misfire.
- Most weapons shoot beyond the sight and below the crosshairs when aiming.
- Plasma Punisher cannot shoot from the shield generators.
- The Stratagem Beam can attach itself to an enemy, but is deployed at its original position.
- The Handcart ship module does not reduce the cooling time of the Shield Generator Pack.
- The Gall Titan sometimes takes no damage to the head.
- The rear of the Charger is not damaged by explosions.
- When joining an ongoing game, players may find themselves stuck in gear.
- Boosts may not be available for players who join a game in progress.
- At the end of each defense mission, the planet is 100% liberated.
- There is no progress bar displayed for the “Raise the Super Earth Flag” objective.
- The number of missions in the Career tab will reset to zero each time you restart the game.
- The descriptions of some weapons are outdated and do not reflect their current design.
There is no update confirmed this week either, but hopefully it will come as hinted. The spear is the biggest issue that needs to be resolved right now, and if there is an update, it will only contain fixes and will not include any balance changes.
