You’ve heard of a room with a view, but for just under £600,000 you can have your own room with a toilet.
When a three-bedroom property in leafy Wimbledon debuted on property site Rightmove this week, it looked like the perfect family home in every way.
The £575,000 detached property in south-west London has three generous bedrooms and a spacious, open-plan living room with plenty of natural light.
But for all its charm, the house did attract some attention: a bedroom with an open toilet.
The spacious alcove, infamously referred to as ‘bedroom one’, has plenty of space for a double bed and a desk before the carpet fades away to reveal the hidden porcelain quarry.
Or maybe not so hidden, since the bathtub, sink and toilet are not separated from the rest of the room by a wall and are therefore completely open for everyone to see (and probably smell).
The property, advertised by Savills, is described as “a three-bedroom detached house with a rear courtyard in need of modernization”.
The bathroom is not mentioned in the listing.

One user called attention to the house on social media and quipped: “Can we talk about the layout of bedroom 1?”
When another discovered the monster in the room, he expressed disbelief and said: “You could do a puppet show for the person in bed while sitting on the toilet.”
Another laughed: “Imagine paying well over half a million for that.”
“What do you mean you don’t want your entire bedroom to be constantly damp?” questioned another.
Earlier this week, eagle-eyed browsers spotted something completely different in another Rightmove listing.
But while Purplebricks’ listing features 13 unremarkable photos of the property, image 14 shows disturbing graffiti sprayed across the front of the house.
The words “paedo” and “nonce” are written in blue spray paint on the front walls and door frames of the former home of a convicted sex offender.
This listing is described as a “magnificent” three-bedroom property “located in a popular and convenient location” and appears to be an ideal purchase for a potential buyer.
Located in Heol Cadifor, Swansea, Wales, the semi-detached house was listed for sale by Purplebricks Estate Agents for £125,000 and was advertised on Rightmove yesterday.
The property description boasts that the property is being offered with no chain, meaning buyers can “take advantage of the opportunity to secure your dream home.”
Far from being a “comfortable retreat for relaxation or gatherings,” this house once housed vile pedophile Tommy Allington, who was sentenced to 24 years in prison after admitting to filming himself sexually abusing a baby and the Having shared images with other pedophiles.
Swansea Crown Court heard how the 25-year-old primary school assistant exposed a toddler to a child ongoing campaign of child sexual abuse, assault and rape.
The horrific ordeal only came to light after police received information about indecent images on Instagram and found a secret phone hidden in the attic of his home. Allington had downloaded more than 1,500 images of children being sexually abused.
